To replace either the Upper fan Assembly or the Lower Fan/Speaker Assembly, shut down the system, remove power, remove the system cover, and refer to the appropriate procedure.

Upper Fan Assembly Replacement

Lower Fan/Speaker Assembly Replacement

1. Put on your ESD wriststrap.
2. Remove the Front Bezel.
3. Remove the CPU Daughter Card.
4. Disconnect the upper fan cable from its connector on the MLB.
5. Remove the Upper Fan Assembly by unlatching the two plastic tabs which protrude through the front of the enclosure, rotating the assembly slightly, and disengaging the tab on the other side of the housing.
6. Lift the assembly out of the enclosure.
7. Reverse the steps above to install the replacement Upper Fan Assembly.

To replace the Lower Fan/Speaker Assembly, follow these steps. Hint: For ease of access, rest the system on its side.

1. Put on your ESD wriststrap.
2. Remove the Front Bezel.
3. Disconnect the lower fan cable from its connector on the MLB.
4. Depress the tab which protrudes through the front of the enclosure to release Lower Fan/Speaker Assembly and swing it backward.
5. Lift the flange free of the left side of the enclosure, and remove the assembly.
6. Reverse the above steps to install the replacement Lower Fan/Speaker Assembly.
